Starvation Creek creates a small ribbon of water, willows, and cottonwoods that snakes down a desert canyon. Sage and juniper struggle for life on the hillsides, but we are refreshed along this small creek. Recording over sounds of the rushing stream was difficult along most of the creek. I finally found a sweet spot of calm water and lively bird activity on a June morning. Although the bird species are not rare, they came together wonderfully on this morning to create one of my all time favorite dawn concerts.
